Strong State Physics - Essay Example The models apply differed logical standards in investigating the separation elements of semiconductors. In all the models, nucleation and proliferation happen in progressions. Separation in semiconductors is influenced by factors like changes in temperatures and the nearness of pollutions. Disengagement elements is liable for the plastic and pliable nature of most semiconductors. Disengagement is a significant viewpoint in the material science of materials and requires broad research. Separations elements is noteworthy in the material science (mechanical and electrical) of semiconductors. Disengagements convey versatility along crystalline components. Additionally, the disengagements structure focuses that trap and disperse electronic bearers. Various exploratory data with respect to the disengagement elements of semiconductors that are tetrahedral fortified are accessible in different research articlesi. The chief slip frameworks for silicon are the 60â °, while the direction of the screw separations falls along the slip planeii. The two frameworks structure a crawled arrangement and separate to shape sets of fragmentary disengagements that bound strips of inborn stacking faultiii. Separations decrease the vitality used in strain. In addition, the lower the vitality of the stacking shortcomings, the more positive the disengagements happen, vigorously. The hypothesis holds for semi-conductors (III-V and II-VI) and germanium. Flimsy movies semiconductors are a building wonder in the contemporary science world. Underage Drinking - Free Essay Example

Underage Drinking Underage drinking is a serious health problem in the United States as of right now. Alcohol is the most used substance of abuse among teens, and drinking at such a young age can cause enormous health and safety risks. The consequences of underage drinking can affect everything and everyone around it. As you grow older you see a lot more effects from underage drinking. Some of these include, aggressive behavior, injuries, violence, and death. Teens and young adults through the ages 12 through 20 drink 11 percent of all alcohol consumed in the United States. Although youth drink less often than adults do, bu when the youth does drink they drink until they can not drink anymore. That is because teens consume more than 90 percent of their alcohol by binge drinking. Drinking alcohol and binge drinking become more relevant to teens and becomes more popular the longer it stays. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that alcohol is a factor in the deaths of 4,358 young people under age 21 each year. Young people that are drinking underage are involved in many accidents, like, 1,580 deaths from motor vehicle crashes, 1,269 from homicides, and 492 from suicides. Drinking alcohol can cause kids to have accidents and get hurt. In 2011, about 188,000 people under the age of 21 visited an emergency room for alcohol-related injuries and deaths. Drinking can lead to poor decision and could lead to mistakes for your future, including drinking and driving, sexual activity, and aggressive behavior. Underage teens who drink are more likely to carry out or be the victim to physical or sexual assault after drinking. Drinking as a teen may trouble in school or with the police. Drinking alcohol also is associated with the usage of drugs and sometimes teens can become abusive to these drugs. Research shows that young peoples brains keep developing well into their 20s, so drinking alcohol can alter this development, because potentially affecting both brain structure and function. This may cause learning problems and can make the brain more dependent to alcohol. This is just one risk when people start drinking young and drink heavily. As children become more dependent on themselves, they start to feel the urge to try new things and take risks. Underage drinking is something that attracts many teens all across America. Many teens want too or have already drank alcohol, but they do not fully understand the consequences of this decision. Consequences are something that happens when the wrong choice was made, so when you make the decision to drink, then you risk your life and someone elses. There are so many reasons why young teens drink alcohol ,like, peer pressure, independence, and stress. Kids today think that If I drink then I wont have to have all the worry and stress on my shoulders. These teens need to realize that the older you get the more responsibility they have. Womens drinking patterns are different from mens . When it comes to how much and how often they drink, a womens bodies react differently to alcohol than a mans body would. That means women face more health risks from alcohol than men do. Many of these factors that make women different than a man are, women have a lower drinking ability than a man and women have less water in their bodies. Woman are more prone to health risk than a man. This is because in todays society the man thinks its okay to roofie a girls drink and take advantage of her. Not all men do this, but its so common in todays society. Women are more likely to become ill with liver damage, heart disease, breast cancer, and pregnancy. Underage drinking is a real issue in America right now because teens think that drinking will make them cool. Drinking is a serious issue and it can not be taken lightly. Kids are going to parties, getting drunk, and being taken advantage of. Teen girls are getting raped by being drugged. Teen males are getting killed because they think they can drink and drive. People are dying because teens think that drinking is going to make them the next best thing, but in reality youre killing your body. You could also be killing other people. Teenagers like to say Im not that drunk, I can drive myself home, but when they actually get behind the wheel everything on them is impaired. Their vision, motor skills, and balance are all parts of the body that becomes impaired while being drunk. Those are all the major necessities that you need to have if you are going to get behind the wheel. In the United States, getting and drinking alcohol under the age of 21 is illegal. Drinking underage comes with consequences ,like, community service, suspended license, fines and jail time. Not only do individuals put themselves in danger, but they also put others in jeopardy if they get behind the wheel of a car or become violent. Many adolescents consume most of their alcohol by binge drinking, which means they consume an excessive amount of alcohol in a short period of time. It is extremely risky behavior that can lead to problems like excessive drinking, relationships, school work and possibly professional goals. Although you cannot force an adolescent to stay away from experimenting with alcohol, there are several ways to help prevent underage drinking. First and foremost, you should talk to the child about the dangers of drinking. Have an open conversation about peer pressure, the effects of alcohol on your body, and the emotional troubles caused by drinking. Also let your kids have a say so because kids should also have a chance to discuss how they feel, as well as ask any questions they may have. Its important for adolescents to feel at ease when talking with a family member or loved one. This builds trust which serves as the foundation of a strong relationship. Another way to keep your child from drinking is to encourage hobbies and activities he/she likes to do. After-school activities give kids an opportunity to meet new people, stay busy and have fun doing something they actually like to do. This is also great opportunity for parents to become involved in the teens life and show support for everything they do. Perhaps the best way to prevent underage drinking, to me, is to sit down and talk to your child. Sit them down, tell them how you feel, and make them feel the worry and stress they have for you when your out drinking. Make them feel as if their life is worth living and alcohol does not need to ruin that. If that does not work then get ahold to a psychologist and see what further steps you need to take to insure your childs safety. Drinking is the thing you do when you just want to forget. You want to forget what had happened that day or you just want to relax and have a fun night, but drinking is not fun. Drinking makes you depressed. Drinking makes you sit there and contemplate on how bad your life is. Drinking makes you do things that you regret. Teens do not understand what drinking actually does to people. Drinking can make someone kill themselves or someone else. Do you really want that guilt on your shoulder because all you wanted was too forget everything. Most of my friends drink, and it is hard to get away from in a small community, but I finally realized what I have been needing to do to help that situation. All I did was, get new friends. Real friends do not peer pressure you into doing something you do not feel comfortable doing. They would respect you and your decision. Nowadays, kids think that their parents are just being mean and do not want them to go anywhere, but the truth is, they just love you. They care about you coming home safely every night, they care a lot more than you think. They love you so much that they are willing to do everything possible to make you stay home so they know your safe and nothing can harm you. Parents do not want to get a phone call at three oclock in the morning saying there has been an accident. Your parents want the world for you. You just have to let them in so they can give it to you. Everyone cares, nobody is going to judge you for a few mistakes because most likely once in there life they messed up and was forgiven. Just know that making one mistake will not hurt you, it is what you do after that. Eleanor Roosevelt once said With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts. If anyone you know is having trouble with alcohol related issues, tell them you love them, because right now that is probably the thing they really need.

Elie Wiesel A Resilient, Compassionate, Wise, And...

Introduction Imagine yourself in a situation similar to the concentration camps during the holocaust. Would you remain strong, courageous, and wise? It’s hard to know how you would act during this circumstance, nevertheless to imagine this situation at all. However, Elie Wiesel was one to not only experience this horrible situation but survive it. Through his journey he stayed strong and courageous, even if he didn’t realize that is what he was doing at the time. In my opinion, Elie Wiesel was a resilient, compassionate, wise, and an intelligent human being. Of course, no one would have realized that they were being strong or smart at this time; they were focusing on staying alive, doing exactly what the SS men said, and wondering what was happening to their other family members. Yet, as I read Elie’s experience and watched as he returned to Auschwitz I saw him as resilient for his ability to do everything he was told to, to fight for his life while in the camp, and for being able to go back and visit the place that once caused him so much pain. Not only was he strong for being able to go back and visit but he was thoughtful. He wanted to go back to the camps to pay respects to all of the people that met their fate there and to make sure they are never forgotten. Another way he strives to keep the memory of those who lost their lives is through his books. He uses his intelligence to share his memories as well as the truth of all that happened to him and all the others.

Edith Hamilton, Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes (New York: Mentor Books, 1969) 13-23 suggests that â€Å" Greeks made their Gods in their own image which is also an transposal of the Near Eastern Judeo-Christian principle that is envisioned to advocate that we can learn much about Greek values and culture of that time from their mythology. Construction contract

Question: Describe about the Key elements to determine contract and recommendations for completing the annexure of the contract? Answer: Key elements to determine contract There are different views of different individuals for attaching the conditions in a particular contract. Some of the conditions could be very useful as per the business requirements where as sometimes it is seen that there are some of the conditions, which makes the contract totally invalid. The contract is constructed when the offers and the deals are accepted between two of the parties singeing the desired contract. Therefore, in according to the contract, i would suggest a contract in which there should be some of the key elements to determine the conditions of the particular contract (Goldfayl, 2004). As a building contractor, i would recommend a contract in which all the necessary details should be clearly mentioned regarding the business between the two companies. The elements are acceptance of the offer, intention as well as motivations to create lawful relations, consideration and capacity, and finally illegal or void contacts. There should be intention between the two of th e parties for creating the relations according to the law of the country. The signing of the contract between the two parties should be as per the law of Australia. The legal capacity of the contract includes the people who usually had an impairment from the different mental strategies, especially the minors or the bankrupt as well as the prisoners and the people acts on behalf of their company. The contract should deal with the standards required by the construction companies as per the standard needs of the business. The strategies play a great part in the development of the construction of a business so, the strategies must be included in the contract as it is one of the key elements for building up the contract. One of the leading factors regarding the construction companies of Australia is the issues regarding the values of the construction industry and the accessibility of the standard form without the use of sustainable development. Moving to the next issue is the issue of cu rrent perceptions of the construction industry of the Australia (Phillips, 2009). The values as well as the norms of the two of the companies dealing through the contract should be highlighted clearly. The factors regarding the duration of the contract, values of the key elements within the contract should be mentioned clearly in the contract. The focus of the contract should be as to suit the commercial building having a contract value of more than $500,000.00. The contract should have provisions for the clauses of the quality management. Sections and clauses in the contract Relating to the size of the project, the amount of $500000 is considered for a small or medium size of the project. The contract law may be distinguish between five broad categories as ; Formation: this section deals with all, the requirements that makes the validity of the desired contract. Scope as well as content: this part deals with the terms included in the contract Performance and termination: this includes the circumstances in which the contract can end or continues. For making the clauses and the sections, standards forms should be used. On an overall survey it is found that there are four main forms as AS4300 (23%), AS4000 (18%), AS2124 (17%) and AS4902 (14%), which represents a total of 70% of all the standard forms. The AS400 standard form of the project was significantly reported to be used for the projects whose values were excess of $500 million (Uher and Davenport, 2009). It was found on an overall survey of all the construction companies that there was more that 84% of the contracts who were using the standard forms for completing their projects. As per the laws of Australia, the standard form of AS400 was made for the general rules for the construction companies. There are certain limitations as well as exclusions in the contract for the construction companies which helps to manage and handle the risks relating to the contractual relationships. There are certain points under which the clauses can affect the contract between the two part ies. They are as follows: i) Resulting in equality of the two parties between which the contract has been signed. ii) any one of two parties under any of the clauses or the sections should not be protected. Ways of offers termination Revocation Rejection Counter offer Lapse of time Disability of parties Conditional failure Proposed recommendation Plans Date of planning, further analysis Specification Prepared by, last changes made Detailed drawings Detailed sketch date, prepared by Internal drawing specifications Prepared by, permitted level of regulatory authorities Schedule Overall schedule of the project and further risk identification date and quality assurance approval Risk Insurance AU $ 100,00 Physically injury liability AU $ 150,000 General liabilities AU $ 200,000 Property Damage Liability AU $ 450,000 Workers compensation AU $ 175,000 Difference between the clauses A difference between the clauses can be easily seen after researching on the data collected by various contracts. Under the clause of termination, a large amount of difference is seen between different contracts of different construction companies. In any of the contract it is not, Cleary mentioned that an individual can be terminated under certain circumstances (Goldfayl, 2004). In other words, it can be explain as there is non-contractual rights for every individual working in the construction company to terminate the employee working under his or her position. A large amount of frustration due to the final payments or termination can be seen in many of the individuals working under the construction companies. It is evident for the companies to revise their contracts as per the demands of the current situation as well as the demands of the employees working out there with the companies under certain rules of contract. Some of the best cited, examples can be made as when there is re fusal in the work by the employees, removal of plant by the contractor and by the many other purposes. Recommended contract This is the most crucial part of the study as this part of study will help the researcher to analyse the data on the preparation of a contract with certain useful rules as well as clauses. First of all, in particular opinion the contract should deal with the treaties between the two of the companies, secondly the contract made should be according the laws and regulations of the government of the country. One of the vital points for the construction contract is to maintain the standard forms of contract and the sections as well as clauses should be discussed clearly. The terms and conditions of the contract for each of the employees ashould be clearly mentioned as well as the clauses should be discussed with different sets of rules and values. The points like, between the two who will share the large percentage of share and the period of evaluation as well as the renewable of the contract should be discussed properly within the contract. The clause of termination and the clause of fin al payments should be made strictly under the rules and regulations of the respective authorities. These two of the clauses are very important from the business perspective of the construction companies. Recommendations for completing the annexure of the contract This is one of the crucial part of the study as it will help the researcher to gain a vast amount of knowledge on the improvements that can be made on the contract between the construction companies, prior to signing. The amount of work to be done and the fixed value of the price for that amount should be clearly mentioned in the contract. Sometimes it becomes very difficult to work as per the demands of the different parties, so, the time limits are one of the leading factors managing the potential risk. There should be certain time limit for the completion of the overall project and there should be certain rules for qualifying for gaining the extra time required for the completion of the project. the standard clauses as well as the governments norms should be incorporated within the contract and it must be clearly understood by the individuals, before signing the contract. One of the interesting feature that must be included in the contract is that there should be some criteria for the individuals involved with the project that they have to pay extra interest rates in case of crossing the time limits for the required project. sometimes it is seen that the contract between the construction companies contains long term agreements which ranges from the cost as well as the description of the materials or the items involved in the project, this long agreements leads to several disputes between the individuals, so, there should be correct resolutions for solving that particular issues. The clauses under the contract should be according to the rules and regulations of the desired authorities. There should be a section relating to the claims regarding the clauses of the termination as well as the clause of making the final payments from the respective companies. possible range of documents There are certain documents that need to be attached before signing thee contracts. These documents could be the insurance papers respective of the whole business, drawings or the design involved in the construction business for the desired project, and finally it could ne the list of specifications that generally deals with ongoing project regarding the construction business of the company. There should be a maximum of ten documents that should be uploaded prior to the signing of the contract between the companies (Uher and Davenport, 2009). The documents should be verified as per the norms of the respective authorities as well as the norms and rules of the two construction companies. Some of the other important possible ranges of document include the documents relating to the conditions of the contract, documents relating to the overall projects, the documents including and explaining the finance section regarding the project within the contract. A form of agreement papers are very important for each of the two leading companies involved with the contract. So these are the certain documents in which at least five of them should be uploaded. justifications for the recommendations a) Percentages for variations While submitting the documents as per the norms of the company there should be variations in accordance with the percentage highlighted in the documents that was uploaded. b) Percentages for provisional sums While selecting or making the desired choices regarding the contract there should be percentage for the denominations as well as for the calculations of the provisional sums strictly relating to the business. c) Qualifying causes for Extension of time (EOT) Time is one of the important as well as crucial factor as per the contract between the construction companies (Sims and Dancaster, 2000). Therefore, there should be definite time-period for the project included in the contract within the given time the overall project should be completed. There should be some certain rules for extension of the time limits in which the remaining work can be completed. The qualifying causes should be included in the project according to which the permissible time limits should be given to the individuals. d) Process and documentation for submitting a progress claim The process of documentation is very important as per the requirements of the overall business (Rowlinson, 2011). Making the claim for the desirable payments should include the following points such as subcontractors against or under the supervisors or the head of all the contractors, the suppliers of the raw materials, the hirers for the equipments of the goods inside the plant and finally the consultants. There should be definite rules according to which the individuals can make the claim. The claim must be time bounded and the overall writing should be addressed to the respondent. The whole of the procedure should proceed under definite clauses as well as under the laws made by the government. e) Interest on late This is one of the most interesting part of the clause section as it deals with the interest on being late. There should be interest on the late submission of the project according to the different situations (Uher and Davenport, 2009). In case due to some delay from the company perspectives, the interest rates should be negligible or there should be very low interest rates. Clear statements that can be easily understood by each of the individuals should be made under this category of interest rates. References Goldfayl, G. (2004).Construction Contract Administration. Movies Essays - Aftermath Of War, Wars Of Independence,

Movies Each war had a serious impact on the individuals surrounding it, whether it be the soldiers, Indians, slaves, women, children, and even the entire feeling of the countryside. The commonality in each of the three films, "Last of the Mohicans," Mary Silliman's War," and "Glory," was war, but each centered on a different segment of the population and the different wars of the time period. The French and Indian War was depicted in the "Last of the Mohicans," showing the trials the settlers of the countryside faced while the French fought for control of the union against the British in the mid-18th Century. Focusing on the strengths of women, "Mary Silliman's War" encompasses the revolutionary war as the Americans try to break free from Britain. Finally, the inner fight between the Union is depicted in "Glory," which gives startling footage on the black man's struggles in the fight for emancipation. Through studies, in course work, various books including Boorstin, Brinkley, Gross, and others, and by watching the films, a better understanding of the trials of freedom that American individuals undertook in the 17th and on into the19th Century was received. A connection of the feelings, emotions, and trials of the history of all Americans is felt and interpreted in the following paragraphs. As the first white settlers came to what is to be America in the early 17th Century, the struggle for power was inevitable. Looking through time and history, power has always been a key factor in the lives of the people of the nation, and it still is today. The nine years of the French and Indian War (1754), which was in part depicted in the "Last of the Mohicans," showed how two countries were fighting over control of the people and land of the colonies. We can see that the fighting had to do with power and control of other people and property. Feelings for those not in the war, innocent people, were overlooked and pushed to the side. In addition, the first American settlers, the Indians, were treated as pawns in a bigger game only to take what was theirs to begin with. Both the French and the British tried to win the Indians over, only to later push them further into the western countryside, until there would latter simply be no room for them. "Mary Silliman's War," focusing on the revolutionary time period in the late 18th Century, included the powerful struggle of the British to control the Americans. Instead of the struggle for the power of the land, at this point the British had the land and now focused on controlling the freedoms of the people of the nation. When the British felt as if they were loosing control, they grasped to incorporate a tighter system of government into the lives of Americans. The rejection of this control lead to the many horrifying years of war. The efforts of Americans to create a better nation did not end here. The northern and southern parts of the nation were not yet unified, even after fighting against the British in the revolutionary war. In fact, it was difficult to combine the entire nation and not stay divided in tiny communities as in the past. These factors, along with many other differences of opinion when dealing with the colored people of the nation, lead to an even greater power struggle than ever before. The southern Confederacy wanted the power to control its own nation, separate from that of the northern Federacy.
